Testing! Testing is this thing on? Go and grab your tea, as you know it’s about to get real! Yall it’s been a journey walking with Christ. From running away from God in college to religious Bible thumper to delievered and set free from man/religion to now living in freedom with God and walking in my calling. Through these past 10.5 years of walking with Christ I’ve been through quite a few rollercoasters. By the way I hate rollercoasters. So guess what the Lord said, write there’s people who need to know about Me (Him/God/Lord/Jesus). My bad I had to add that so the naysayers reading don’t think it’s about me.
Well here’s round 1 to, Remember Wednesdays. A play on Wayback Wednesdays. I remember when I was soooooo religious minded at one part of my life so much so EVERYBODY WAS GOING TO HELL! Including my momma, smh. Let me type that out SHAKING MY HEAD. Yes I said it. If you know my mom or have ever come in contact with her you would say TIA YOU DONE LOST YOUR MIND. But I did and guess what, let the Lord had come back miss saved, fast 7 days a week, busy in church 6 days full of PRIDE ARROGANCE Tia would be in helllll. In church. Whewww chille!
Look but hear me out. I remember in college I never knew the difference between denominations until one of the girls in choir asked what were we? I say huh, I believe in Jesus. They said naw Baptist, COGIC or Apostolic. Clueless me said I guess Baptist cause I go to and grew up in Calvary. From then on they were so mean and they were COGIC.
So still I never knew the difference so I guess this had to be taught right? Just like how lil racists kids say racists stuff well they LEARNED this from their parents right? I see the same as religion this is taught! Not what Jesus taught because obviously everything traditional/religious thing done that was Not from the FATHER he rebuttal or addressed the added laws from the scribes/Pharisees. Remember…. “Why don’t your disciples keep the traditions of the elders”? This was a question by those scholars by the name of the prestigious Scribes and Pharisees. Don’t shoot the messenger lol
Back to my thoughts of my mom going to hell. Y’all don’t laugh at me but this what I was told, right? My mom never told me the difference between the denomination until I left Calvary to find God at another church. Guess what? COGIC…whewww chilllee. Don’t get me wrong I learned so much, which began my walk with Christ. I learned scripture, rules, laws, character good and bad, how to do life with people and how not to. One of those things I was taught was…drum roll please denominations. I was told Baptist were not saved, they wear pants and don’t speak in tongues. Welp my mom was 2/3, Baptist and pants, but wait she speak in tongues though. Nope! Don’t matter she going to hell.
How stupid is that I know what you’re thinking. I’ve seen my mom pray our house down, literally walk in on her crying out to God for us, pray for siblings, nieces, nephews who hate her, walked according to the Word of God, filled with Holy Spirit, but all because of Baptist and pants that wiped out her heart for Christ and her lifestyle. As much as I read the Bible all to repeat scripture during Sunday service aka Pride or to shut someone down on Facebook to say they are not saved, I must have missed
1 Samuel 16:7
But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.
I had to missed this by sending a faithful servant to hell because of a denomination and PANTS! Vanity! Worthless! Taking on what I was taught I trashed every single pair of pants I owned and bought every skirt/dress I could find. VANITY! WORTHLESS! Taking on the appearance of what I thought a Christ like follower would look like but the inside filthy. That’s Matthew 23:35 for those that need reference.
Before deliverance, Fall of 2016 one day laying in my moms bed alone during a visit the Lord spoke something I thought I’d never hear…”You’ve taken on a religious spirit”. How? Was my only question. Not I’m sorry Lord, but HOW! I I was told “some traditions are good or needed” so how did I take this? This began the process of God revealing over several months. After my 4/17/2017 deliverance, which is different for everyone, God transformed me to truly experience and understand the Love of Christ. I’ve never been the same since or should I say never been back to Egypt since. Thankful God didn’t let me stay in that state of mind for 40 years. Taking years to really KNOW God. Just like Knowing your spouse. He could’ve left me or I could’ve rejected this and held my head high full of vanity, pride and worthless living, old in years but knowing nothing. Thank you Jesus for mercy!
Question for you….Have you taken on something that’s contrary to Jesus? Have you added or adhered to something that if Jesus were here, would he question? Or would you question Jesus why his followers don’t follow the tradition of the elders?
Always remember Jesus fulfilled everything sent from the Father but when it was an added law like the above question is referring to washing hands before eating (Matthew 15:2)…Jesus did not abide. He did what His Father spoke and did.
Love you….I hope that you find your hope in Christ. Always be a student of the Word.
